The Master Driver Association was formed in January 2000 by Warrant Officer Class One (Retd) Bob Watson with the aim of bringing past and present Master Drivers together for an annual meeting. 

Bob wanted to set up the association to ensure that those who qualified as Master Drivers both past and present could use the association to keep in contact with old friends, to make new acquaintances and more importantly to act as an reunion for Master Drivers. 

 

The MDA is located at the Defence School of Transport (DST) as this is viewed by most as the home of the Master Driver. 

The association is currently run and organised by those Master Drivers serving at DST and its Chairman is the in post SMD in the HQ.
